The program has NO COST to participants and is open to unemployed and underemployed (including part time and seasonal workers) people who want to update their skills and work for a local business or start their own digital consulting business. Participants will have access to a laptop computer, childcare and other supports. By the end of the program participants will be equipped to master sought-after skills required by employers in our region.

Reporting to the Team Leader of Design and partnered with a seasoned Men’s merchant team to design a seasonal line of clothing that coincides with the brand identity.   Producing and presenting credible seasonal concepts that include colour and print direction, key looks and trends for a team of merchants and upper management to follow throughout the season’s development.  Creating separate seasonal sub-concepts of colour, print and key looks/trends maintaining the private label’s brand identity as well as strong cohesion within seasonal colour palettes and print packages.  Providing, managing and leading the creative direction for a seasoned team of merchants and upper management.  Working with individual category merchants on seasonal assortment planning ensuring the concepts presented are fulfilled as well as working with individual category merchants to balance key item development with on-trend seasonal fashion.  Providing seasonal key looks and trends to be used in marketing material, supporting electronic trend boards, and purchasing physical samples for seasonal presentations.  Analyzing trends in colours, prints, silhouettes and fabric and translate them to suit the private label's brand aesthetic; all while traveling seasonally for inspiration and trend research and working within the deadlines of a demanding calendared creative cycle.​

Continuously streamline design processes and procedures throughout the development process that will aid final design integrity and accurate fit, manage and maintain product and data,  document changes where necessary in flats/tech packs/lineplans/CAD drawings; all while ensuring scheduling is maintained in a timely manner via corporate calendar.
